BOTOX 101
WHAT IS BOTOX?
Botox is a neurotoxin. It’s injected into the skin and used for cosmetic purposes or for medical applications, such as a treatment for chronic migraines which makes botox a very safe product.
HOW BOTOX WORKS
Botox injections strategically placed in problem areas with fine lines or wrinkles can prevent the muscles in the associated area from contracting. This feature smooths out these lines to provide a more youthful appearance.
POST-PROCEDURE CARE
Swelling and redness are common immediately following a Botox injection, but these effects disappear almost immediately or within the hour. The best way to avoid irritation is by not touching the site of the injection. Vigorous activity immediately after the procedure may increase the risk of bruising. Smoking and taking blood thinners may worsen any side effects.
BEWARE OF THE BOTOX PARTY
Although you may have heard of the “Botox party,” Botox injections should not be administered in this manner. This medical procedure is not as serious as surgery, but it does require the use of sterile instruments and local anesthesia if needed. Our cosmetics are administered by Dr. Joseph Havrilla, who is AAFE certified and as a Periodontist can use Novacaine if desired. When you sign up for Botox or Fillers with the Havrilla Center, you can be sure that you will see the best in the field, not just a technician.
The Havrilla Center is now running a Back to YOU Botox and Dermal Filler Special with 15% OFF. Offer ends October 31st, so act fast. Call 610.328.9608.
